Social Benefit
The mission does not end at the Park. Regional issues include habitat destruction, pollution, deforestation and loss of traditional values and culture within Mayan communities.
There are alternatives, and all are linked to education. The neighboring city of Chemuyil, home to approximately 50% of our workforce or 1,200 people have built homes, a soccer field and a public library.
In daily practice at home, reforestation and renewable resource gardening are practiced, just as in the Park. Solid waste is collected monthly and recycled. Xel-Ha participates on a public level, as well as a commercial level.
The results are a better lifestyle for staff, and the planet as well.
